New Facility Offers Advanced Programs and Hands-On Learning Opportunities |
Sumner County Schools is excited to announce the opening of the Carolyn Smith Innovation Center, a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide students with advanced educational programs while they remain enrolled at their home schools.
Located at 735 East Main Street in Hendersonville, the Innovation Center will host open house events on Thursday, January 15, and Thursday, February 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. These events offer families the chance to tour the facility, explore available programs, and learn about the Applied Practical EXperience (APEX) learning model being developed at the center.
Current programs include entrepreneurship, content creation, aviation, hospitality, criminal justice, and project management and leadership. Students entering grades 10 through 12 for the 2026–2027 school year are eligible to enroll.
The Innovation Center aims to break down traditional barriers in Career and Technical Education (CTE), allowing students to access a wider range of programs. This initiative reflects a growing recognition of the importance of fostering positive relationships and providing essential support to help students succeed in their roles.
As Sumner County Schools moves forward with these initiatives, the focus remains on creating a supportive and innovative educational landscape that prepares students for the demands of the future. The anticipated outcomes include not only enhanced learning experiences but also a stronger sense of community and collaboration among students and educators alike.
For more information about the Carolyn Smith Innovation Center and its programs, please visit the Sumner County Schools website or contact the district office directly. As always, the Sumner County Pulse will keep you apprised of new developments. |
