Local Resident Plans to Purchase Fishing Boat with Winnings |
A Hendersonville resident has struck it rich, winning a $1 million prize from the Tennessee Lottery's "The Fastest Road to $1 Million" instant-ticket game. The fortunate winner, David Pannell, purchased his ticket at Exhale Smoke Shop in Hendersonville.
"It's unbelievable! It still hasn't sunk in," David expressed when asked about his windfall. Working the third shift at a local grocery store, he plans to use his prize money to buy a fishing boat. "That's all I really want," he added with a smile.
This significant win is part of a series of recent lottery successes in Tennessee. In Murfreesboro, a Powerball player claimed a $100,000 prize, while another lucky individual in Johnson City also won $1 million from the same instant-ticket game. These wins contribute to the more than $22 billion in prizes awarded by the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation since its inception.
The Tennessee Education Lottery operates solely from the revenue generated through ticket sales. Since January 20, 2004, it has raised over $8 billion to fund designated education programs, including college grants, scholarships, and K-12 after-school initiatives. In addition to benefiting educational programs, lottery retailers have earned more than $2.1 billion in commissions.
David's win brings a wave of excitement to Hendersonville, highlighting the potential for life-changing opportunities through the Tennessee Lottery. As he looks forward to enjoying his new fishing boat, the community celebrates his good fortune. |
