Paul Graden Announces Candidacy for Sumner County  Commission District 9 (Tennessee)

Local faith‑based leader pledges practical governance, fiscal responsibility, and a heart for community service

Friends and neighbors, I’m grateful for the chance to share something close to my heart. After prayer, long talks with my family, and listening to people across our community, I have decided to run for Sumner County Commissioner for District 9 in Tennessee.

This decision was not made lightly. For years I have watched how rapid growth is changing the places we love. Growth can bring opportunity, but only if we manage it responsibly by putting infrastructure first. Our roads, schools, and public services must be ready for tomorrow without overwhelming today. I believe developers and contractors should share that responsibility, and taxpayers should not be asked to carry a greater burden through higher taxes. Sound planning and fiscal responsibility are at the heart of this campaign.

Serving others has always been my calling. I was ordained as a minister in 1999 and have spent my life helping families, churches, and organizations grow stronger through faith‑based leadership and accountability. As a former CEO of an eighteen‑million‑dollar‑a‑year nonprofit here in Middle Tennessee, I’ve learned that sound management and compassion must work hand in hand to serve people well.

District 9 is more than a map; it is home. It’s where we worship, raise our families, shop, and serve alongside one another. I see the dedication of our teachers and first responders, the volunteers who strengthen civic life, and the neighbors who lend a hand without being asked. These experiences have deepened my belief that good local government begins with everyday community service.

My campaign focuses on three simple goals: strengthening infrastructure, protecting taxpayers, and investing in our people. At every step, I will listen first and speak second because the best ideas start in living rooms and coffee shops, not behind closed doors.

I’m a conservative Christian, a husband, a neighbor, and someone who loves this county deeply. I believe the core of good government is the same as the core of good community: faith, freedom, integrity, and service.

In the months ahead, I hope you’ll share your ideas for District 9 with me. Let’s talk about what’s working, what’s not, and how we can build a stronger, more accountable Sumner County together. Please share this announcement with your friends and neighbors and join me as this campaign takes shape.

Together we can make sure Sumner County remains a place where faith, family, and integrity define who we are.
