Local Costco customers urged to check purchases amid widespread product recall |
Costco has issued a recall for its Kirkland Signature Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
This recall affects approximately 3,314.7 pounds of the product, identified by Item Number 17193, with a pack date of September 18, 2025, and a sell-by date of September 22, 2025.
The product was distributed in clear plastic clamshell containers and sold in the deli section of Costco warehouses across 33 states, including Tennessee.
Local residents in Hendersonville and throughout Sumner County who have purchased this item are advised to take immediate action.
The recall was initiated after the green onion supplier reported a positive test result for Listeria in the green onions used exclusively in the Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke produced on September 17, 2025.
While no illnesses have been reported to date, the FDA warns that Listeria can cause severe and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, older adults, individuals with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women, where it may lead to serious pregnancy complications.
Customers who purchased the affected product should not consume it and are advised to discard it immediately.
Full refunds are available at Costco locations.
