Hendersonville Gears Up for Tunnel to Towers 5K Run/Walk

The Hendersonville Police Department is calling on residents to participate in the upcoming Tunnel to Towers 5K Run/Walk, scheduled for Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sanders Ferry Park.

 

This annual event pays tribute to first responders and military service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is dedicated to honoring these heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star families and building specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.

 

In a heartfelt gesture, the foundation previously assisted the family of Officer Spencer Bristol of the Hendersonville Police Department by paying off their mortgage after his untimely passing. This act of kindness has left a lasting impact on the community.

 

Residents, families, local businesses, and fellow agencies are encouraged to join the 5K to show support for the foundation's mission and to honor those who have served. The event is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels, whether they choose to run or walk.

 

Registration is available online, with fees structured as follows:

 

Adult Registration (18+): $40

 

First Responders and Military (18+): $35

 

Youth Registration (13–17): $25

 

Child Registration (12 & Under): $15

 

Participants are encouraged to register early to secure their spot and to ensure they receive an event T-shirt. Day-of registration will be available, but T-shirt availability and sizes cannot be guaranteed for late registrants.

 

The 5K course will wind through the scenic Sanders Ferry Park, offering participants picturesque views of the area. Water stations will be set up along the route, and medical personnel will be on-site to ensure the safety of all attendees.

 

For those unable to participate in the run/walk, donations to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation are welcomed and appreciated. Every contribution helps further the foundation's mission to support and honor our nation's heroes.
