Details about triple creek park and how grant funding could impact local recreation |
Residents of Gallatin are encouraged to participate in a public meeting regarding the expansion of multi-use fields at Triple Creek Park.
The City of Gallatin Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled the meeting for Friday, March 6, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Gallatin Civic Center.
The department is seeking funding through the State of Tennessee's Local Parks and Recreation Fund Grant program to develop recently acquired property at 1255 Touchdown Drive, adjacent to Triple Creek Park.
This expansion aims to enhance recreational facilities and accommodate the growing needs of the community.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for community members to learn more about the proposed plans and share their input before the project moves forward.
In addition to the expansion plans, the city is also collaborating with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on a stormwater improvement project at Triple Creek Park.
This initiative includes constructing a stormwater berm to reduce flooding impacts in downtown and other downstream areas along Town Creek.
Construction is expected to begin in the first half of the year and be completed during the summer.
Residents are encouraged to attend the public meeting to stay informed and contribute to the future of Gallatin's recreational spaces. |
