Tennessee Gas Prices Experience Fluctuations Amid Market Changes

Sumner County Residents Navigate Shifting Fuel Costs

As of July 14, 2025, the average gasoline price in Tennessee has risen to $2.77 per gallon, marking a 5.4-cent increase from the previous week.

Despite this uptick, prices remain approximately 30.9 cents lower than the same period last year, offering some relief to motorists.

In Sumner County, residents have observed similar trends.

Local gas stations report prices ranging from $2.22 to $2.37 per gallon, depending on the location and brand.

For instance, Dodge's Store in Hendersonville offers gas at $2.22 per gallon, while other stations in the area list prices slightly higher.

These fluctuations are primarily attributed to rising crude oil costs, which have increased from approximately $67.00 to just over $68.00 per barrel.

Stephanie Milani, spokesperson for AAA – The Auto Club Group, noted that these price changes are influenced by factors such as oil market instability and seasonal demand variations.

Nationally, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline has seen a modest increase, reaching $3.15 as of July 14, 2025.

This national trend reflects the broader economic factors affecting fuel prices across the country.

For Sumner County residents, these changes in gas prices have a tangible impact on daily commuting and transportation expenses.

While the current prices are lower than those from a year ago, the recent increases serve as a reminder of the volatility inherent in fuel costs.

Staying informed about local and national fuel price trends can help residents make more informed decisions regarding their travel and budgeting.

As the summer progresses, monitoring these fluctuations will be essential for those planning trips or managing daily commutes.

In summary, while Tennessee and Sumner County have experienced recent increases in gas prices, the overall trend remains more favorable compared to the previous year.

Understanding the factors influencing these changes can empower residents to navigate the evolving fuel market more effectively.
