Local Scholars Recognized for Academic Excellence in Accounting |
The Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) has awarded $280,000 in scholarships through its Educational & Memorial Foundation to 128 accounting students across Tennessee.
Among the recipients are three outstanding students from Sumner County: Matt Bailey of Hendersonville, attending the University of Tennessee at Knoxville; Martin Ancheyta of Gallatin, also at UT-Knoxville; and Mandy Tran of Hendersonville, studying at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
These scholarships are primarily funded through the Life Associates Program, established in 1978 to honor CPAs who have significantly contributed to the scholarship fund for Tennessee accounting students. Since its inception, the program has grown to over 700 members, collectively supporting approximately 4,000 students over the past 25 years in their pursuit of accounting degrees and CPA certification.
In addition to the general scholarship fund, several named scholarships have been established by TSCPA members and chapters. These prestigious awards are granted based on criteria set by the donors, recognizing exceptional academic achievement and leadership qualities. |
